Curatorial Work

Owner and Art Director, Borealis Gallery, Northport, MI

In April 2017, Matt Papi and I opened Borealis Gallery, a fine art gallery representing a small group of contemporary American artists whose work encompasses generative art, sculpture, pen and ink, acrylic, watercolor, and egg tempera. For six months in 2017, Borealis Gallery operated out of an experimental storefront location in downtown Northport, MI, and now exists as an online and pop-up gallery.

Exhibition Director, SPARK! An Exhibition of Artists Under 40, June 16-25, 2017

In June 2017 the Northport Arts Association presented its first 'age show' for artists 18 to 39 years old. I had the honor of directing this exhibition and presenting the selected works at the Northport Village Arts Building. I asked artists Jimmy Linenberger, co-founder of Cirque Movement, and Jenee Rowe, owner of Breakwater Company, if they would be our jurors for the exhibition to which they both gladly agreed. SPARK! was sponsored by FREENJOY, the production company of Nathan Scherrer, Grammy-winning producer of Beyoncé's "Formation" music video, and supported by a generous grant from the Leelanau Township Community Foundation. Over $1000 in prizes were awarded at the SPARK! opening reception, and the exhibition was featured in an article in the Leelanau Enterprise.
